 The "Vastedda della Valle del Belìce" obtained the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) from the European Union, whose regulation was published in the Official Journal of the European Union on 29 October 2010.
The protected designation of origin Vastedda della Valle del Belìce PDO is reserved exclusively for this spun paste cheese, obtained from sheep's milk raised in the Belìce Valley.
  DOP is the European trademark intended for the protection of agricultural and agro-food productions characterized by a strong link with the territory of origin.
